DCC Presents "Voices From the Delta"

The Delta Cultural Canter announces a series of educational programs during the month of February entitled,” Delta Days 2017: Voices from the Delta.” S. Juain Young and Artists United will present an entertaining program about life in the Arkansas Delta from the 1800s to the 1970s utilizing living historians, musicians, and oral histories.Attendees will learn about traditions, folklore and agriculture.

Performances will be held at Beth El Heritage Hall on Friday 3, 10, & 17.Schools are invited to schedule groups for one of two performances on those dates, 10 – 11 a.m. or 1 – 2 p.m.

The activities for the month will end on Saturday, February 25, with a historical scavenger hunt and music concert from 11 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. After a brief orientation, participants will visit several DCC venues to discover clues for the scavenger hunt. Activities conclude with a 1970s-style concert featuring actors portraying music greats Mavis Staples and Al Green at Beth El Heritage Hall.
