Helena, AR – Painted Blues, an exhibit of blues portraits by artist Diana Charles, will be on exhibit at the Delta Cultural Center Depot, located at 95 Missouri Street in historic downtown Helena, beginning Tuesday, May 3. Admission is free. Painted Blues will be displayed through October 31.

Painted Blues is an on-going fine art watercolor portrait series of contemporary blues musicians and singers. It provides the viewer a personal art experience of their favorite blues performers and brings to light those whose music the viewers may have not heard of before. “Music and art go hand in hand,” states Charles. “As a painter, this project is dedicated to the musicians and singers in this unique musical genre.”

The Delta Cultural Center shares the vision of all seven agencies of the Department of Arkansas Heritage--to preserve and promote Arkansas heritage as a source of pride and satisfaction. Other agencies within the department are the Historic Arkansas Museum, the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, the Old State House Museum, the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, the Arkansas Arts Council and the Natural Heritage Commission. ###
