The Delta Cultural Center - 141 Cherry Street, Helena-West Helena Arkansas

Additional Event Details

The grand opening of one of the Delta Cultural Center's most alluring exhibits yet, entitled "The Painted Delta: Artistic Expressions of the Alluvial Plain,” is Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Delta Cultural Center, 141 Cherry Street, in Helena, at 4 p.m. Admission is free.

Most of the artist who have contributed to this exhibit are self-taught, have minimal formal training and call Arkansas home. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised by the leisurely—rather than somber -- tone that these original works evoke.

A wine and hors d’oeuvre reception will follow a brief introductory program. Guests who attend the opening will have the opportunity to engage with the artists and curator. The public is invited to view the impressive body of artwork that will be displayed and to meet the creators who will be present.

While the exhibit’s grand opening is a one-day event, the exhibit will be on display through June 12, 2019. The DCC’s hours of operation are Tuesdays through Saturdays, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, contact Drew Ulrich, DCC curator at 870.338.4350, or [email protected]
