The Delta Cultural Center will host a poetry reading by Terry Minchow-Proffitt on Thursday, March 16.Minchow-Proffitt is a product of the Arkansas Delta, and his newest book, Chicken Train: Poems From the Arkansas Delta, was inspired by his native land and its people. The event will be held at the DCC’s Visitors Center, 141 Cherry St., from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. A book signing will follow.
A retired pastor and poet, Minchow-Proffitt currently resides in St. Louis, Missouri. His poems have appeared, or are forthcoming, in such magazines and journals as Arkansas Review, Big Muddy, Christian Century, Oxford American, Prick of the Spindle, and Valparaiso Poetry Review. Minchow-Proffitt received degrees in philosophy from Arkansas State University and theology from Princeton Theological Seminary. He has done further graduate study in English at the University of Mississippi and in Christian spirituality at Washington Theological Union.
