Entries for Youth Art Competition Now Being Accepted

Delta Cultural Center - Tuesday, February 07, 2017

The Delta Cultural Center announces that entries for their annual Blues Heritage Youth Art Competition are now being accepted. Students are encouraged to create art work that expresses this year’s theme, “Old Time Blues.” The deadline for submitting art work is June 15, 2017.

Entries may be submitted in elementary, middle, and high school categories. Any art medium is acceptable, and entries should be standard poster size, with a minimum size of 22” x 14”.

Winners will be announced at a reception to be held in conjunction with the King Biscuit Blues Festival on October 3, and all submissions will be displayed at the DCC’s Depot throughout the month of October. Winners and their teachers will receive cash prizes, and first place winners in each category will have their work made into full-color posters and postcards to be distributed statewide.

This project is generously sponsored by the Pillow Clinic of Helena and provides a wonderful opportunity for area students to express their creativity and celebrate their musical heritage.
