Grammy Award Winning Drummer to Headline DCC’s Front Porch

HELENA-WEST HELENA, ARK – The Delta Cultural Center in Helena is gearing up for this year’s King Biscuit Blues Festival with a great lineup at their Front Porch Blues Bash stage, located in the Miller Annex at 223 Cherry St. Performers include local favorites, as well as artists new to the Front Porch stage. Musical styles vary, with something for all audiences. Headliners this year are award-winning artists Kenny Brown and Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith.

The Front Porch Blues Bash is free and open to the public. The performances have become extremely popular with blues fest visitors because the Miller Annex provides an intimate indoor venue where the audience and the artists can interact with each other.

Things get started on Thursday, October 6, with a blues jam from 1 – 4 p.m. Jams often prove to be highly entertaining due to their unpredictable nature.

Music begins at 12 p.m. on Friday, October 7, with Stephen “Da Bluesman” Duncan taking the Front Porch stage for the first time. Artists Guitar Mac MacKnally, Brotha Ric Patton, Ben Wiley Payton, and Bill “Howl-N-Madd” Perry will provide the afternoon’s entertainment, with headliner Kenny Brown and his band wrapping things up from 5 – 5:45 p.m.

Saturday’s lineup is equally impressive, with Richard “Rip Lee” Pryor, Robert Kimbrough Sr. Blues Connection, Willie Cobbs, and Vasti Jackson performing from 12 – 3:45 p.m. Grammy award-winning drummer Kenny “Beedy Eyes” Smith and his band bring their outstanding brand of blues to the stage at 4 p.m., and the music concludes with the ever-popular Front Porch Youth Jam.

A complete lineup can be found online at the DCC’s website: www.deltaculturalcenter.com. For more information, interested persons can call the DCC at (870)-338-4350 or toll free at (800)-358-0972.
